Long time no see

I know that it's been a year since I last posted. A lot has happened, and I'll fill that in soon, once we get our Christmas letter written, and all of our photos uploaded. Here are some pics we took recently to get you by until then.

'Tis the Season!

Hi! We hope that all of you are having a wonderful holiday season. Elena loves decorating the tree, and she is thankful that we have two cats so we get to hang decorations almost every day!

She gives the ornaments to Nathan, who asks, "Where should I hang them, Elena?" Elena points and says, "Up! Up! Up!" Posted by Picasa

It's great to be a big sister!

We are thrilled to announce the arrival of the newest edition of our family. Our new baby boy, Tristan Grant Poulosky, was born on Aug 18, 2006 at 8:05 am, weighing 8 pounds and 8 ounces, and measuring 21 inches long. Baby and mom are doing great, and Elena thinks that Tristan is the best toy ever. When she sees him, she keeps saying "Baby!".. "Baby!" Posted by Picasa

Elena's first Easter Egg Hunt

I apologize for not posting in quite a while, time has really gotten away from me. Here are a pair of pictures from Elena's first Easter egg hunt. I only took about 20 seconds for her to figure out what was going on, and she had a blast looking for the eggs and putting them in her basket. Posted by Picasa

Excursions!

Last month we visited Grandma and Grandpa Poulosky during Spring Break. Our cousins Connor and Carson were there, and we were able to hang out with all the horses and other animals.

We also visited Silver Dollar City, an amusment park in Branson Missouri. They have a giant play structure there where kids can use giant vaccuum hoses to suck up nerf balls, and the kids on the upper levels can feed them into air guns and shoot them back down.

Today Elena, Alex, Nathan and Daddy went to the Indianapolis Children's Museum and saw a giant tower of colored glass, went for a ride on the Magic School Bus, saw a play of Stuart Little, looked at dinosaur fossils and played in the science center. Nathan's friend Ellie also went with us, and it was a lot of fun.

Here's Uncle Corey

Elena got to meet Uncle Corey, Aunt Annette, and cousins Connor and Carson during our trip. She loved following all four boys around during the 69 degree afternoon where we all played outside. (The mark on her cheek is due to a fingernail scratch, and is now healed) Posted by Picasa

Elena and Granddad

Over MLK weekend, we made a quick trip to Nebraska to visit family. During this trip, Elena got to meet many of her cousins, her Great Grandma, and here is a picture of her playing with her Great Granddad. She LOVED meeting everyone and was great during the whole trip. She got lots of attention! Posted by Picasa

Baby loves cake!

Elena LOVES her cake! Sorry that I've been so negligent in posing lately. This picture is from November. Posted by Picasa

Elena is one!!! She turned one on November 18th, and it was a lot of fun! She seemed to enjoy her day so much! Posted by Picasa

Look Ma! I can stand!

Elena started to stand all by herself by the end of October. We know that it wouldn't be long before she started to walk! Posted by Picasa

Hey, I know her!

We were lucky enough to visit our friends, the Zinda family, during our trip to Louisville in October. Delaney and Paul were part of our travel group. It was great to see how well Delaney was doing, and see the girls together again. Posted by Picasa

Baby's room

Here we are in Elena's room (pink, of course). We are all wearing the t-shirts bearing the logo of the CCAI travel group that we were a part of. The scroll hanging on her wall was painted by a local artist in Nanchang, the provincial capital of her home province. The three block letters down the center are the characters of her Chinese name. The column on the right details her birthdate, and the column on the left gives information on the place and artist. Laura's mom made the beautiful quilt hanging on her crib. Posted by Picasa
